Fairy Princess Returns to KCM

The Fairy Princess is a magical figure that appears during the holiday season at Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall. The Fairy Princess is an original Kansas City holiday tradition and one of the oldest. Although her official age is not given, she has appeared in Kansas City for over 70 years.

This year, Kansas City Museum has joined again with Kansas City shopping destination, Zona Rosa, to assist the Fairy Princess in sharing holiday joy with children in the Northland. The Fairy Princess will magically appear at Zona Rosa during their Northern Lights Ceremony Nov. 22 and will be there until Dec. 4 from noon-8 p.m.

On Friday, December 5, from 4-8 p.m., the 2008 Fairy Princesses will appear at the Kansas City Museum neighborhood Holiday Open House. The Chalice Bronze Bell Choir, presented by the Historic Northeast Cultural Arts Commission, will perform at 6 p.m. The following morning, the Fairy Princess will assume her magical throne in the Fairy Princess Pavilion. She will appear at the Kansas City Museum Dec. 6, 13, 20 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on the north end of the Museum.

At the Museum, you can purchase a photograph for a modest sum, visit the Fairy Princess Boutique, and see exhibits in the Visitor Center and StoryTarium. Parking is available on Norledge Avenue at the north end of the Museum–follow the blue arrows!
