The Kansas City Museum’s First Sunday Family Fun Day is a fantastic way to share a great family moment and have a little fun too! The event, held on the First Sunday of every month, allows children to have fun while also having an exceptional learning experience. There are historic games and scavenger hunts held on the grounds to play. For the artsy person in your family, there is an arts and crafts area. There’s historical information and exterior panels surrounding the Museum for the history aficionados and if you are lucky enough, you might get a free old-fashioned treat.

Take a ride through history as visitors learn about transportation over the years, from horses and buggies to trains and airplanes, during First Sunday Family Fun Day Jan. 4. Conductors from the Kansas City Museum will take you on a tour through the evolution of transportation, from traveling several days on horseback to get across the country to it taking a few hours by airplane. Families can play transportation matching games and win prizes and create their own transportation masterpiece. Don’t forget to take a trip through Kansas City’s history by visiting our panel exhibit and watch a film about trains, planes and automobiles in our StoryTarium!
