Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall starts the New Year with new Preservation Workshops in January and March. The Museum’s talented collections staff helps take the mystery out of caring for old photos and documents on paper, and for precious historic textiles. Each 60-minute workshop includes demonstrations of appropriate archival storage techniques, handouts and suppliers lists for necessary materials.
“Caring for Historic Clothing”
Preservation of historic clothing depends on the right environment and the right materials. This workshop will identify clothing types and how each should be stored to maximize their life, what kinds of storage environments and materials are good for clothing and tips for storing oversized garments in appropriately- sized containers.
