Amtrak Service at Kansas City's historic Union
Station
After an absence of 17 years, Amtrak returned to Union Station
in December 2002 with the opening of a new passenger
ticketing and boarding facility. Amtrak now serves between 400 and 1,000 passengers
a day in Kansas City.
The passenger entrance is at the northeast corner of Union Station's
Grand Hall, adjacent to Pierpont's restaurant. The waiting room features five of the original
wooden benches from the station's North Waiting Room.
Parking
Short-term parking for Amtrak customers is available in front
of Union Station. The first hour is free. Long-term parking is available in the West
Yards parking lot for $10 per day.
Daily Departures
Three trains with four daily departures serve Union Station:
» The Southwest Chief - Service between Chicago
and Los Angeles
» The Ann Rutledge - Service between Kansas City and Chicago
» The Missouri Mule - Twice-daily service between Kansas
City and St. Louis
