  2. How much is admission to Union Station?
    Admission into the building is free. General admission tickets to Science City and exhibits, and tickets to movies and shows are extra.

  3. Are group rates available?
    Yes, group rates are available with advance reservations for groups of 15 or more. Click on Visitor Information and then Groups on the web site or call 460-2020 for more details.

  4. Where can I park and how much does it cost?
    A four-level parking garage is located on the west side of Union Station.

    Parking Garage:
    First 3 hours are free, after that it’s $1 every half hour with a maximum of $10 a day.

    Front Parking Lot:
    6 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Free
    After 9 a.m. - $1 for 0-2 hours
    $2 for 2 to 4 hours
    $10 for more than 4 hours

    Parking is available for Amtrak patrons in the parking garage for $10 a day.

    Yes, in the women's restroom in Sprint Festival Plaza.

  8. Where can I buy tickets?
    Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing counter located on the lower level of Union Station, just inside the doors leading from the parking structure. When entering the Station through Grand Hall on the upper level, go down the escalators at the west and proceed straight ahead to Ticketing. Self-service ticket kiosks are located in the ticketing center and by the Information Booth in the Grand Hall. Tickets can also be purchased online.

  9. Is Union Station handicap accessible?
    Yes, ramps and elevators are located throughout the Station. Wheelchairs can be checked out at the Information Booth. Visitors can check one out free of charge by leaving a driver's license at the booth. Handicap parking is available in the front parking lot, the west parking lot and the underground garage leading into the theater district. Wheelchair seating is available in all three theaters. See an usher for assistance upon arrival.

  10. What public transportation is available to the station?
    Kansas City's bus system, the Metro, makes several daily stops at Union Station.

    Amtrak train service has returned to Union Station.

    Cab service is also available to and from the Station.

  11. Where are the bullet holes from the 1933 Union Station Massacre?
    There are marks on the front of the building that were supposedly created by bullets from the 1933 Union Station Massacre. You can find these marks near a sign about the massacre at the main front doors on the eastern end. If you can't find them, ask at the Information Booth.

  12. What is the average length of stay inside Science City?
    Science City is self-guided and takes most people anywhere between two and three hours. Once admitted, your hand will be rubber-stamped allowing re-entry as needed throughout that day.

  14. Do shows or exhibits ever sell out? Are advance reservations needed?
    Yes, some exhibits and shows may sell out early in the day during busy seasons (especially on weekends, summer and holidays). Purchase tickets in advance by phone or in person to make sure you get in and avoid potential lines.

  15. Do trains operate out of Union Station?
    Amtrak trains began operating out of Union Station again on December 17, 2002, after a 17-year absence. For reservations or schedule information call 1-800-872-7245 or visit www.amtrak.com

  16. What's the Link and where is it?
    The Link is the covered walkway that connects Union Station, Crown Center and the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Visitors can access the Link in Union Station at the second level of the Food Court. The Link is open 6:00 a.m. to midnight daily.
