Friends of Union Station
Young Friends of Union Station are committed to the revitalization of Kansas City’s downtown and urban core by serving as ambassadors as advocates for the various exhibits, activities and events at Union Station. The young Friends host a number of special events, social mixers, and networking opportunities each year, including this year’s Next Stop New Year’s Eve Party.
Leadership and Volunteer opportunities are available through the Young Friends of Union Station throughout the year in the way of Committees for Event Planning, and support of the organization itself.
Ultimately the goal of Young Friends of Union Station is to “friend-raise” and fundraise for the general operating costs of the Station. Union Station is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization and receives no public funding (e.g. tax dollars). The meticulously restored facility is among Kansas City’s greatest civic assets, and its renovation and reopening has spurred the rebirth of downtown and the urban core.
While anyone is welcome to join, our target demographic is Young Professionals between the ages of 21 and 35, who are civic minded, and looking for an opportunity to support a great cause and be a part of Union Station’s future continued success.

New Year’s Eve Celebration
Hosted by Young Friends of Union Station
Ring in the New Year with Young Friends of Union Station at the group’s signature fundraising event “Next Stop.” This hip celebration will turn Union Station into a swank upscale club and will feature appetizers, adult refreshments, party favors and live entertainment from the KC All Stars – Kansas City’s best live dance and party band. At midnight party goers will be treated to a champagne toast and a special New Year’s surprise. This is a party with a purpose; all proceeds from the event benefit the general operating fund of Union Station Kansas City.
