Signs of Life
Each organism on Earth has certain universal characteristics. These include having cellular activity, growth, responses to the environment, metabolic activity, maintenance of homeostasis, passing on of traits, and the ability to reproduce. In this session students will investigate each of these characteristics of life to understand why they are important to all organisms. Students will work with tissue samples and live specimens as well as having the opportunity to use scientific equipment such as microscopes, oximeters, thermometers, and various measuring devices.
