President and CEO of Union Station George Guastello spoke with Dick Wilson from KCMO on Sept. 4 about Union Station’s 100th Anniversary celebration. The celebration begins Friday, Sept. 5 with a musical/digital odyssey called “The Monument Comes Alive.” The largest-ever digital installation at Union Station features a 3D digital display, 12 20K projectors, and a “screen” 10 stories tall and one city block wide — the station itself. The work was created by local creative groups Quixotic, Bazillion and Bic Media.
Guastello also spoke with Dale Carter from KFKF about the Kansas City Chiefs Official Red Friday Pep Rally at Union Station. The pep rally kicks off Union Station’s 60 days of Celebration for it’s 100th Anniversary.
Evening events also include a live music concert, food, and beverages.
The night will end in an extraordinary fireworks finale.
