Opening summer 2026, The Berlin Wall. A World Divided. is the story of the greatest symbol of division in the 20th century. For nearly three decades, the Berlin Wall divided a city. Now, The Berlin Wall. A World Divided. brings its story to life.
An unprecedented collaboration, which for the first time gathers more than 40 lenders from 20 international institutions, highlights the different perspectives and experiences of people living on both sides of the wall through a collection of 200 original objects on public display for the first time in North America.

– Divided into four galleries, guests will experience A World Divided, Before the Wall, Division and Living with the Wall, andGlobal Transformation and the End of the Cold War.
– Includes several large sections of the Berlin Wall and materials tracing its evolution, from early barbed wire to escape-deterrent obstacles such as “Stalin’s lawn,” a spiked metal ground structure.
– Featuring personal belongings of Hiroshima bombing victims, fragments of a spy tunnel, and objects reflecting public responses.

Yes. The audio guide and headphones are included with admission and are highly recommended to enhance the exhibition experience with additional historical context. Audio guide is available in English, French and Spanish.
Yes. Printed transcripts are available upon request for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. Please ask an audio guide attendant for assistance.
To help protect the artifacts and provide a safe experience for all guests, bags and strollers are not permitted inside The Berlin Wall. A World Divided. This includes purses, backpacks, fanny packs, and diaper bags. We encourage guests to bring only essential items that fit comfortably in their pockets and leave larger items secured in their locked vehicle.
Because the exhibition contains priceless and irreplaceable artifacts, food, beverages, and gum are not permitted inside the gallery.
Yes. Cellphones are permitted inside the exhibition. Out of respect for the experience and other guests, we kindly ask that phones be silenced and that calls be taken outside the gallery.
Non-flash photography for personal use is welcome throughout most of the exhibition. Commercial photography is not permitted. Selfie sticks, tripods, and camera bags are not allowed. Cameras should be carried by hand or with a strap.
Yes. Wheelchairs and walkers are welcome; however, they are not available for rent onsite.
Parking is available in the Parking Garage located on the west side of Union Station’s front entrance and accessible via Broadway Street. The four-level garage offers convenient access to the exhibition. Additional parking information is available at unionstation.org.
We recommend allowing at least two hours to fully experience the exhibition. Length of visit may vary depending on how much time guests spend reading, listening, and reflecting throughout the galleries.
We recommend the exhibition for guests ages 12 and older. Some themes may be emotionally difficult for younger children.
The exhibition is open Monday – Friday 10AM – 5PM, Saturday 10AM – 6PM and Sunday 11AM – 6PM. Last tickets are sold two hours before closing.
A limited number of walk-up tickets may be available; however, many dates and times sell out in advance. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online before visiting.
Limited seating is available throughout the exhibition.
To help preserve the artifacts, the gallery is maintained at cooler temperatures. Guests may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater for comfort.
Yes. Union Station offers several dining options, including Harvey’s Restaurant, Parisi Coffee, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and Pierpont’s Restaurant.
Yes. A gift shop featuring exhibition-related merchandise is located at the end of the exhibition experience.
While we do not recommend the exhibition for young children, guests may use a baby sling-style carrier in place of a stroller. Essential items such as diapers and wipes should be carried in pockets, as diaper bags are not permitted.
Yes. Essential medical supplies may be carried in a small medical bag.
