Leadership Addition Signals Yet Another Milestone In Remarkable Growth And Vibrancy For Historic Monument
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 8, 2016) — Union Station announced today the promotion of Christy Nitsche to newly created Director of Advancement and Community Engagement. Nitsche has held the role of Science City Director of Programming for nearly two years and previously managed the Science Center Education Team and its programming and marketing strategies. Prior to joining Union Station in January 2013, she worked for Time Warner Cable and Sprint/Embarq in roles including Community Relations, Communications and External Affairs.
In her new role, Nitsche will oversee the donor development department working closely with the philanthropic community to create partnerships to serve the scientific and cultural mission of Union Station. She will also be working to expand community outreach, attracting and retaining corporate and individual supporters. In that context, she will oversee Union Station Membership programs which have grown to record levels in recent years. Additionally, Christy will direct the development and implementation of existing as well as new Union Station events. Finally, she and her team will celebrate and grow the Union Station Volunteer Program, which represents one of the largest in-kind gifts received annually.
