Auschwitz Exhibition Weekend Evening Hours Added to Satisfy Overwhelming Demand

An Additional 5,775 Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. exhibition tickets have been opened for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning February 18 and through March 19, 2022

Kansas City, MO – February 9, 2022 – Today, Union Station officials announced the addition of weekend evening hours, equating to an additional 5,775 tickets to the Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. exhibition. New weekend evening hours will begin February 18th and run through March 19th. Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. closes March 20th.

“With all remaining weekend daytime tickets already sold, Union Station is pleased to be able to expand our operating hours and hopes to accommodate everyone who would like to visit and experience this life-changing exhibition before it closes,” George Guastello, Union Station president and CEO, said. ”The additional seven weeks we added to extend the exhibition thru March 20 and now the addition of weekend evening hours are truly important opportunities that should not be missed. Everyone who wants to see the exhibition should find time to do so before it leaves and goes back to Europe. As we enter the final weeks of the exhibition, we encourage everyone to act now to lock in their visit day and time.”

Since opening, the exhibition – presented in Kansas City by Bank of America – has been embraced by nearly 330,000 guests who have either visited or secured tickets to visit. This marks an all-time record for touring exhibitions at Kansas City’s historic home for the last 22 years.

These new Weekend Evening Tickets are available first to Union Station Members through Thursday, February 10. Starting Friday, February 11th at 8:00 am, tickets open to the general public.

STARTING FEBRUARY 18:

Fridays and Saturdays will include new 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm entry times. Exhibition closes at 9:00 pm.

Sundays will include a new 5 pm entry time. Exhibition closes at 7:00 pm.

WEEKEND EVENING TICKETS:

These special evening entries will only be available with a new Weekend Evening Ticket.

MEMBER EARLY ACCESS: Through Thursday, February 10th midnight, Weekend Evening Tickets will be offered exclusively to Union Station Members and at a discounted Member rate of $15 (plus $1.50 fee).

Starting Friday, February 11th at 8:00 am, Weekend Evening Tickets will be available for purchase by general public/non-members.

Weekend Evening Tickets are priced at $30 (plus $1.50 fee). This represents a slight increase over the regular $28.50 general admission ticket. Extending into evening hours requires very specific and additional staffing, security, and building operations investments. We’re pleased to make these tickets available at such a nominal increase.

These Weekend Evening Tickets will sell out quickly. Tickets are sold with no returns or exchanges.

MONDAY – THURSDAY GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS:

For those able to attend on a weekday, a limited number of daytime weekday tickets are available at regular general admission pricing and with senior, group and student discounts.

Advance ticket purchases are necessary for admission. Walk-up tickets are not available. Tickets can be purchased online at unionstation.org

ABOUT THE AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU STATE MUSEUM
Fulfilling the wish of survivors, on July 2, 1947, the Polish parliament created the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum on the site of two preserved parts of the former German Nazi camp: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau.
