Brunch is normally reserved for the weekend. But the best brunch spots in KC are open throughout the week as well! Beat the crowds and visit some of our favorite spots. Hang out at Happy Gillis and indulge in their locally sourced toast, bubbles, or biscuits and gravy. Once you’re fueled up, it’s time to explore! It’s no secret that KC gets HOT in the summer. So why not cool off and let your inner kidult out with a trip to Oceans of Fun? There you can fly down Hurricane Falls, or relax in the Caribbean Cooler lazy river. 

No matter what your speed, Oceans of Fun is your destination to scream like a kid again, or chill in the swim-up bar at Castaway Cove.

To end the perfect just us day in KC, dry off and head to one of our favorite date night spots in Kansas City. You can relax at a table for two at La Bodega or visit our own Pierpont’s for an even more intimate setting. Spend a hot summer night with cool local artists

Nicer weather means more festivals. Here in the city of fountains, we’re always up for a party. Here are the festivals that keep the fun going all summer long.

Union Station kicks off the summer fun in May with our Celebration at the Station. Every Memorial Day, we invite food trucks and friends to celebrate with us from 5 pm until the finale. We cap the night off with the Kansas City Symphony and a spectacular fireworks show. It’s a fan favorite here at Union Station, and is a great way to kick off the summer!

KC turns up the tunes and the taps at Boulevardia. This is one of our favorite summer activities for adults who like their beer cold and their music live! 

For two days in June, Grand Boulevard turns into the grand stage for hit record makers and local heroes alike. One wristband gets you all the local tastes and taps you can handle! There’s really no better way to enjoy a hot summer night of music than at Boulevardia.

For those who like to walk on the wild side, Fringe Fest is a feast for the senses. In July Kansas City’s wildest dancers, storytellers, and more come together to showcase the best independent films and performances our city has to offer! Their visual arts gallery is featured right here at Union Station, and performances take place throughout the city. All events are free to the public, and all donations keep the fun going year after year.
