The Ultimate Spring Break in Kansas City

Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, spring break in Kansas City always goes by way too quickly. Just one week to live it up in the city of fountains is never enough for everyone to enjoy everything.

But fear not! The Union Station crew knows just the thing when it comes to planning the ultimate shenanigans to cut loose! Spring breakers of all ages have something to enjoy here, so dive in to find the best ways to spend all 10,080 minutes!

Spring Break for Tykes

For the youngest spring breakers, it can be difficult to figure out how to keep them busy. Sure, play dates are an easy option, but there is so much more to explore during spring break in Kansas City! If you’re a parent trying to keep your kiddos at bay, Union Station has your back with these great camps!

Camp Spring Break

There are many great day camps for kids to enjoy spring break while learning valuable skills and having a blast! Wonder Camps are an awesome way to keep the kids entertained all week long at the Reigner Family Wonderscope. There, they’ll enjoy themed learning events in museum exhibits, group games, and plenty of playtime!

For the sporty young spring breakers, Sporting KC has great Spring Break Soccer Camps for kids ages 5–14. This gives kids an opportunity to hone their skills and learn from KC’s best players! If football is more your kiddo’s speed, KC Football and Cheer offers Spring Break Football Camps hosted by former Jayhawk coach Beck.

For the curious and creative, KC’s got you covered! Code Your Own Arcade Camp teaches kids ages 7 and up how to create their own video game by learning coding skills. Kansas City Young Audiences also hosts spring break camps focusing on theatre, music, and visual arts! Through hands-on learning, young minds can explore their talents with professional artists at all-day camps!

Wherever you look, there’s always a way to empower young minds as they enjoy their first taste of spring break in Kansas City. But as they get older, they’ll likely want to hang out with friends or explore the city for themselves. Fret not, parents—Union Station has thought of this, as well!

Spring Break for Teens

We get it. As kids grow up, it may be harder to corral them into a camp to keep them busy. To help them enjoy some freedom and have a blast with their friends, these suggestions are some of the best ways teens can spend spring break in Kansas City.

Ride the World

Worlds of Fun is a classic way to enjoy a day off in the spring and summer in Kansas City. With so many rides, games, and tastes to choose from, it’s easy to spend a day—or all week—at Kansas City’s favorite theme park.

To keep things interesting, challenge them to get a picture in front of every roller coaster with a camera! While chaperones aren’t mandatory, we recommend reviewing their code of conduct with your spring breaker before they take on the park.

Visit Other Planets

While Worlds of Fun is one of the best places on earth for spring breakers, there’s only one place in KC where you can visit other worlds! The Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium at Union Station has great shows every day to explore the stars and experience mind-blowing light shows.

Between our state-of-the-art planetarium and the biggest movie screen in town, Union Station has plenty of shows to keep teens entertained throughout their spring break in Kansas City!

Spring Break for Adults

Oh, you thought we forgot about the kids at heart? If you think that spring break is just for kids, think again! You work just as hard as those kids do in school, so as they enjoy their spring break in Kansas City, why not use some PTO for some R&R? Not sure where to start? That’s okay, Union Station’s got you covered.

Practice Self-Care

Guys, gals, it’s time to take care of yourself. You don’t even have to commit to a full day! To enjoy some self-care for your spring break in Kansas City, hit The Facial Bar for clinically trusted treatments in under an hour. If you’re looking for a full-day spa treatment, the gals at Union Station have some great recommendations in our Galentine’s Day blog!

Have a Night Out

While some may think that the best ways to spend spring break in Kansas City are under the sun, trust us—some things are better under a springtime moon! Westport is a hotspot in the spring, with live bands at Tin Roof and some of the best restaurants in the city just steps away. Elsewhere, P&L has got you covered with hotspots hosting events all week long. But if you’re looking to relax with that special someone, Pierpont’s at Union Station is your destination for drinks and dinner.
