Union Station is proud to be connected to the soul of the Midwest through the railways that built America. Our northern neighbors in the Cornhusker State have been riding the rails to visit Kansas City for over a century. To celebrate this historic connection, we invite you to break away for a day trip from Omaha to KC!

Climb Aboard

To begin your day trip from Omaha to Kansas City, you’ll climb aboard Amtrak and enjoy riding the rails through the Midwest. You’ll want to plan at least a day ahead to get a full day in Kansas City. Trains typically board around 5:00 a.m., but you’ll have plenty of time to relax as you ride the rails. As the sun peaks over the great plains, feel free to head to the observation car to see a side of America you won’t get on the highway!
