Join us for a prized Disney100: The Exhibition Speaker Series presentation brought to you by Kaye Malins and Sumner Nesbitt from The Walt Disney Hometown Museum in Marceline, Missouri, happening at Union Station on Saturday, July 6, at 10 am.
During this special in-person presentation and interactive Q&A, you’ll learn all about Walt Disney’s time in Marceline, from when he arrived by train at the age of four to when he left for Kansas City at the age of nine. As Walt himself once said, “more things of importance happened to me in Marceline than have happened since – or are likely to in the future.”
As a child, Walt Disney had a habit of carrying a special lucky buckeye from the Rensmer Farm, just down the road from the Disney Farm in Marceline. As a special bonus, event participants will each receive a lucky buckeye of their own, brought to Union Station straight from the Rensmer Farm!
The Walt Disney Hometown Museum, founded by Kaye Malins, was established in 2001 in celebration of Walt Disney’s 100th birthday. Disney spent most of his formative years in the Midwest and included his favorite memories of Marceline in several television shows, films and even theme park projects. Twenty-three years later, the Walt Disney Hometown Museum shares the rich history of Walt’s years in the treasured Midwest city of Marceline.
Tickets for this special presentation are just $10 each. Only a limited number of tickets are available, and early ticket purchase is highly encouraged.
