This season, Holiday Reflections Walk-Thru Village presented by CPKC returns with even more to discover — blending nostalgic holiday traditions with dazzling new experiences, all within the historic walls of Union Station.
NEW FOR 2026
Christmas in Kansas City, Through the Years – Take a nostalgic journey through the Kansas City Christmases we remember — and the ones we’ve heard stories about from generations before us.
Our beloved Kansas City streetscape expands this year with new three-dimensional storefronts and scenes inspired by familiar places including the Country Club Plaza, Crown Center, Gillham Park and more. Wander through the sights and spirit of the 1940s, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and beyond, surrounded by the warmth and wonder of holidays past.
Step Into a Frozen Winter Wonderland – Discover 1,300 square feet of all-new holiday magic as you step into a fantastical frozen world filled with shimmering igloos, singing penguins, an ice throne and plenty of unexpected surprises. It’s a playful new adventure within Holiday Reflections designed to spark wonder, imagination and a little extra holiday magic.
The Holiday Glow Gets Even Brighter
From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by the sights, sounds and glow of the holidays. This year, the magic shines even brighter as nearly 2,000 square feet of animated light fills the space overhead — creating a dazzling, fully immersive holiday world from floor to ceiling.
All of it comes together inside the historic walls of Union Station — a place where generations can step away from the rush of the season and simply enjoy being together.

Additional Ticket Information
Your ticket to the Holiday Reflections Walk-Thru Village, Presented by CPKC, includes access to our award-winning Model Train Gallery. With an additional $5 ticket (FREE for Union Station Members), your little ones (under 48”) can catch a ride thru Rudy’s Wonderland on the Mini Holiday Express Ride-On Train.
Please note: To ride the Mini Ride On Train, all guests must have a ticket to Holiday Reflections Walk-Thru Village.
You will need to select a date as well as a time for your visit. Hourly capacities are strictly limited, walk-up tickets may or may not be available. Advance ticket purchases are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
You may arrive up to thirty minutes prior to your hourly timed ticket. Expect to spend 45-60 minutes in total enjoying the decorations, taking pictures, and marveling at the model trains. No food or drink is allowed in “Holiday Reflections”, but restrooms are located within the ticketed space.
NOTE: All sales final. No exchanges or transfers. Operating schedule subject to change.
For the safety of guests – especially children – who are naturally drawn to interact with or ask for photos with costumed characters, we ONLY allow Union Station authorized and vetted cast members to wear Santa Claus and other costumes inside Holiday Reflections. Please feel free to dress as festive as you’d like, just no Santa or other character costumes. Thank you for helping us focus on guest safety.
NOTE: Professional photography shoots are NOT allowed inside of Holiday Reflections.
MINI HOLIDAY EXPRESS TRAIN
Our Mini Holiday Express Ride-On Train Sponsored by CPKC offers your little ones (under 48”) a ride thru a winter wonderland! Anchoring Main Street Kansas City at the north end, will be a spectacular, 30-foot-tall tree with twinkling lights surrounded by the by the Mini Holiday Express Ride-On Train. The littles will delight as they journey around the new Gingerbread Village.
Please Note: Only accessible with a paid ticket to Holiday Reflections. Line closes 1 hour before Holiday Reflections closes each day.

MAGICAL SLEIGH RIDE VR – DASH’s WORLD ADVENTURE!
Exclusive to Union Station in Kansas City, explore Santa’s secret workshop where Christmas magic happens. Slip, slide, fly and glide around the world after boarding Santa’s magical sleigh and securing your personal HD Virtual Reality headset to begin your immersive journey. You’ll feel an incredible 4D range of sleigh motions, wind effects, sights and sounds. Welcome aboard! You’ve been specially selected to help us test out Santa’s brand new sleigh! Led by our very own DASH, you’ll be transported across the globe (and even into space!) as we give the sleigh a trial flight before Christmas Eve. Hold on to your hats and antlers everyone, this could be a bumpy ride… This family-friendly experience will be one of the highlights of your holiday season and is conveniently located inside the wildly popular Holiday Reflections experience. The Magical Sleigh Ride VR seats up to 6 people and is available as a separate ticketed option.

HOLIDAY MODEL RAIL EXHIBIT IN GRAND PLAZA
Included with your Holiday Reflections Ticket
The Model Rail Exhibit you know and love has expanded into Grand Plaza. With over 800 feet of track, the Holiday Model Rail Exhibit has grown even larger this year! The display features eighteen consecutive running trains and a 15-foot, 3-D, lighted Kansas City Southern Rudy train engine!

Back for 2026 — Tinsel & ‘Tinis – presented by Russell Stover – an after-hours (ages 21+) themed evening experience in Holiday Reflections, complete with seasonally-themed drinks and more.
