Join us Wednesday, June 18th as Science City celebrates Minecraft Day! Celebrate 16 years of building, crafting, and exploration as you make your very own treasure chest, learn about the biomes of planet Earth, see a real-life axolotl up close and personal and more!

Minecraft Day Schedule

Creative Corner: Treasure Chest Surprise – Use the provided pattern to create a treasure chest that can open and close to show and hide the picture inside. When you’re done you can take your chest home with you.

SOS: Biomes on a Sphere – Just like worlds in Minecraft have different biomes, the earth itself has many unique and varied biomes as well. Explore some of them in this special Science on a Sphere presentation.

Maker Studio: Perler Bead Patterns – Use one of the supplied patterns to make your very own creeper or sword out of Perler beads. One of our staff will then help you iron the beads together so you can take your creation home!

Nature Works: Minecraft Animals – Learn more about the animals from Minecraft and even see some up close with our Nature Works educators. Stop by Periodic Table at 11:30am and 2pm for a special nature chat with our popular axolotl and other animals found in Minecraft like frogs, spiders, bees, parrots, and turtles!

Engineerium: Lego Minecraft Construction – Use blocks to build your own character, house, cave or anything else you can imagine!

Simple Machines: Exploding Creeper – Draw a creeper face on a green film canister and then see what it takes to make him explode into the air.

Maze Park: Trivia – Test your Minecraft knowledge with a trivia sheet, and be entered to win a 3D printed Glow Box.

Photo Ops: Two fun photo ops with our special Minecraft-themed backdrops, characters and masks.

Scavenger Hunt: Complete the special Minecraft scavenger hunt on the Science City app and win a 3D printed keychain found inside of the Maker Studio.
