Ian Colrain – The Science of Sleep: What we Know and What we Still Need to Learn

Sleep science is a multi-disciplinary field. Over a 40-year career in sleep science and sleep medicine, Dr. Colrain has worked with neurologists, psychologists, physiologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, geriatricians, and electrical engineers. He has used EEG, structural and functional MRI, and wearables to study sleep in healthy children, healthy adults and those with sleep disorders, substance use disorder and dementia.

Dr. Ian M. Colrain is MRIGlobal’s seventh President and CEO. He is responsible for all aspects of leading, managing, operating, and growing MRIGlobal. He joined MRIGlobal in 2022 following 22 years in biosciences executive leadership and execution of human sleep research at SRI International and more than a decade in academia at Stanford University, The University of Melbourne, and The University of Auckland. He also has three awarded patents and more than 350 scientific publications with more than 14,000 citations.
