Jesse Miguel – My Journey as an Architect: From Building Design, to 3D Visualization, to Bridge Architecture
In this seminar Jesse will describe his own career as a registered architect at HNTB, starting with designing buildings such as airports, sports facilities and convention centers in their Boston Office, then transferring to their Kansas City headquarters to start up a computer visualization group to serve firmwide, and currently servicing as a Senior Bridge Architect and the National Bridge Architecture Leader, working within their Bridge Engineering Group, following his father’s footsteps as an architect in the engineering department.
Jesse Kadekawa Miguel, AIA, NCARB, ENV SP is a senior bridge architect and National Bridge Practice Leader in Bridge Architecture for HNTB. Jesse has a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Masters of Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has over forty years of professional experience and has worked on several bridges and transportation nationwide with the emphasis on aesthetics. Jesse has presented at the TRB’s Visualization in Transportation Symposiums, International Bridge Conferences and presented at schools and universities on HNTB projects, and have served as a judge over 20 years at the Greater Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair.
