Science City’s newest signature event, Spring Fling, returns on Saturday, April 26, 10am-5pm! Bring your entire family for an exciting day jam-packed full of hands-on activities, interactive demos, face painters, and plenty of FUN – all with a special Spring theme!
April 26th – Spring Fling Schedule
Brushed Ink Cardmaking | 10:00 – 4:30 PM
Location: Maker Studio
Create a unique spring-inspired card by assembling die-cut pieces and using ink brushing with a 3D-printed stencil to enhance a warm, floral design. This hands-on activity celebrates the beauty of plants, highlighting their essential role in supporting pollinators and promoting biodiversity in thriving ecosystems.
Caterpillar Pal | 10 – 4:30 PM

Create your very own caterpillar friend, with bright colors and tiny, wiggly legs. Watch your creation form as you follow the instructions step-by-step by cutting a leaf, drawing the pattern and adding your caterpillar!
People and Butterflies (Early Learning) | 10 – 4:30 PM

Butterflies are delicate bioindicators, reacting swiftly to changes in the environment. It’s our responsibility to protect and preserve the ecosystem to ensure the health of our planet. Join us in the PNC Learning Lab where you can create your very own healthy ecosystem with cut-out figures of people and butterflies using a variety of materials.

Buzz, zoom, and race! In this fun activity, send the Sphero bots zipping around a twisty course to reach the flowers first—just like busy little bees on a mission!
Growing Up Wild | 11 AM & 2 PM

Join Nature Works educators at 11 am and 2 pm for a special presentation featuring Science City’s very own critters! Gather around to learn about animals and their offspring during the spring season!
Petunia Potting Party | 10 AM – 1 PM
Location: Simple Machines at Play
Step outside and learn how to pot your own cheerful petunia plants in little 3-inch pots! Along the way, learn fun tips about plants, botany, and how things grow. While Supplies Last.
There’s No Place Like Home | 12:30 & 2:30 PM
Location: Science on a Sphere
There are possibly billions (or trillions) of planets in our Milky Way alone, but we live on just one — our Earth! Join a Science City educator for a brief presentation in learning what makes our planet so special to live on.
