Science City at Union Station

Voted KC’s Favorite Family-Friendly Attraction and Best Family Fun! Featuring three massive floors of themed spaces packed with more than 300 interactive exhibits, high-energy indoor and outdoor play spaces, daily educator-led activities and more, including Light Lab, our newest $1 million exhibit that invites guests to explore to explore how light shapes our world through interactive experience including a new laser maze! Plus if you buy a Union Station membership you can visit all summer long for free!

Friday, July 25: A giant 126-foot-long inflatable and a 70-foot-long inflatable obstacle courses in Haverty Family Yards. From 11 am to 4 pm, put your ninja skills to the test as you enjoy the warm temps and sunshine! Included with Science City ticket. NOTE: Due to anticipated high temperatures, the inflatables will be located inside of Grand Plaza. A Science City ticket will be required.
Wednesday, July 30: It’s a Barnyard Breakout! Brought to you by Paramount Pony and Petting Zoo, get up and close with fantastic and furry miniature friends including a pony, baby chicks, bunnies and more from 12 pm to 4 pm! Included with Science City ticket.

The Science of Guinness World Records is now open at Union Station, and it’s nonstop family fun that makes it possible for anyone, anywhere, to be a record-breaker! You’ll learn about amazing record-breakers and uncover the science behind their mesmerizing accomplishments as you explore six highly interactive zones, see amazing artifacts, and compete in fun challenges with friends and family. From memory skill and puzzle-solving challenges to testing speed, balance, reaction, and endurance, putting your dance moves to the test, shooting hoops, playing on the World’s Largest Pac-Man Arcade Game, and more! It’s interactive fun for all ages. Create a unique profile and earn your place on the daily leaderboard. You’ll even get the chance to break a world record yourself! The Science of Guinness World Records is presented at Union Station by Thrivent and supported by JE Dunn and the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund.
